Child’s Dream (founded in 2003) is a Mekong Sub-regional NGO, working in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
The work in Cambodia started in 2006 and addresses educational disparities. So far, around 200 school buildings, 20 boarding houses, and over 30 computer labs were built. Furthermore, over a thousand high school students through scholarships and life-skills training completed the educational cycle, among other educational interventions.
In partnership with UZHF, Child`s Dream provides secure learning environments, focusing on accessible, safe, and quality school buildings. Since access to basic education remains challenging in remote areas of the country, additional boarding houses for students are constructed. It further includes the construction of computer labs, enhancing ICT skills and job opportunities.
The bottom-up approach of the project supports all stakeholders, fostering local ownership. Expected outcomes include improved learning environments, enhanced health, hygiene, increased enrollment, and reduced drop-out rates.
The Career Planning Program supports students at high school level, to foster personal development and social mobility. In collaboration with six of their own high schools, extracurricular training empowers graduating students.
